Hoot Creative Arts

Workshops

With over 20 years’ experience, I design and deliver creative writing workshops that are fun and impactful.

I’ve worked with schools and with arts organisations, including the Bradford Literature Festival, the British Library, Curious Minds, Hoot Creative Arts, Royal Exchange Theatre, SICK! Festival, Manchester Libraries, and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Much of my work involves exploring wellbeing through creative writing, and I put kindness and compassion at the heart of everything I do. I hold an Enhanced DBS check and am Youth Mental Health First Aid Trained.

Examples of workshops I have delivered include:

  • Poetry isn't Pants: How writing, reading and performing poetry can be silly and joyful.

  • Do you see what I see: Using ekphrasis (aka visual artwork) to inspire writing poetry.

  • Write to your voice: Exploring courage and confidence in writing and sharing poetry.

I’m happy to create bespoke workshops tailored to the needs of your group. Want to know more? Please get in touch on the news & contact page.
